This was the sweet caption Hoang-Kim posted with an instagram of her & a purse full of peonies that caught my eye. That little square was the backboard for what turned into this sweet, creative collaboration of ours here in the nation's capital. You never know what you're gonna get when you speak words of encouragement then share your favorite hometown spots, on social media. 

Thank you again Kimmie for being a ray of sunshine on a gray day in the city & for sharing some of your Omaha favorites with me before our family's big road trip out to Nebraska. With less than a month till the Miss USA pageant, I'm honored & thrilled you that you were able to squeeze in a evening of photos with Tim & I. Though your beauty is mesmerizing, it's your kindness, confidence & charm that set you apart from the masses. Best wishes as you make your way to Miss USA.

Excited to share a preview from this mini portrait session of my sweet cousin who just graduated college. Funky, fun & brave are clothing styles. But kind, hilarious & adventurous are her best traits. Stay tuned for more soon!

There have been projects & ideas brewing in my mind and I'm slowly up surely starting to unpack them and bring them to life. This weekend I got to collaborate with a friend of mine & helped bring to life his skills & sick lyrics.

Family Portraits: Bourdeau

Not very often do I get to do family photos where the kids are half grown. 

Most of my family portrait sessions are with very young children, toddlers and babies. And I know the sentiment that babies won't stay babies for too long, so pictures are a must at that young age. But what I've come to know is that in all stages of life, the seasons change ever so quickly and pick up speed with age. Each season deserves just as much love. Even the season where the kids are still kids but will become teenager at any given moment, that season is fleeting and irreversible. 

I'm so grateful to have captured this season with for the beautiful Bourdeau family.

Rarely do I get the chance to do male portraits. 

So instead of waiting around for the opportunity to come,

 I created opportunity and got together with a talented, stylish friend of mine for portraits.

John, thank you for opportunity to grow, experiment, and practice with you as my model. 

Your artistic suggestions, creativity, and willingness has sharpened my craft. 

But more importantly, your zeal for life, your love for the Lord, 

and your encouraging words have blessed both Tim and I tremendously.
