Wedding: Hector & Liz {Reston, VA}

Before I head out for the holiday weekend I gotta say as crazy as this summer has been so far, I simply adore wedding season. Each wedding has had a special place in my heart and has given me more blessings than a gal can ask for. I've learned more about love, life, and friendship from each one of my brides and their grooms and their family and friends.

A few weeks ago I shot this wedding not too far from home, where I learned more than I ever have on a single wedding day. I learned that my Spanish speaking skills are horrible, and that whether a wedding ceremony was in a language I did or didn't understand ... love is still love in any language. I also learned that there are folks who love to dance wayyyyy more than I do {even at the age of 70} and look better than me doing it. And that this job, is definitely one of the most rewarding jobs ever. I love leaving 'from work' feeling like I just celebrated with friends all day long.

To Hector and Liz, the way you two look at each other with adoring eyes & so much love makes me love, love even more. I am so honored and blessed to have been part of your wedding day, and even more honored to now call you two my friends. These pictures make me smile every time I look at them I hope they do the same for you. -Your friend, Ica {"Irene"}
This was the moment it finally sank it for the bride's older sister, that her baby sister was getting married .. and this was it. I got goosebumps when I took this picture .. because in a few month's I'll be the baby sister in the opposite shoes ... watching my big sis get married to the man she loves. Even when we're older ... sometimes growing up seems like it's happened all too fast.
It nearly broke my heart when I heard my bride's mother couldn't be at the wedding ... but to have shared her wedding day with her mom and family via webcam was too precious for words. Technology we love you.

wait for it ... this next one is my fav.
sigh
Congrats again to you both ... you party animals you!!!

Have a Happy 4th of July everyone!
